Another very late post of mine taken last year for another group foodie adventure. I've heard a lot of positive reviews and feedback about CYMA so I actually had high expectations. Located at the Terraces in Ayala Center Cebu, CYMA has a nice and elegant dining ambiance. You have the option to dine either inside or outside(preferably for smoking customers).
What we had were all based from online recommendations because none of us have any idea of what to order. All are first timers and are not familiar with the Greek menu.
Saganaki(Flaming Cheese) - Cyma Original - Mozzarella, Parmesan and EVOO |
Hummous - Velvety chickpea, tahini and garlic dip served with warm pita bread. |
Chicken Gyro - With tomatoes, white onions, tzatziki and wrapped in pita |
Mixed Meat Gyro - Marinated pork and beef |
Pastitsio - Baked Macaroni - layered macaroni and savory meat sauce, topped with Greek bechamel |
Moussaka(Greece’s National Dish) - layered seasoned ground pork and beef, roasted Japanese eggplant and Greek bechamel sauce |
Sorry to say this but all of what we had except for the Gyros tastes bland. It just lacks flavor or uumph... I expected the cheese to be a little bit salty than the others we had ordered, but still the same - it tasted bland. The primary upside for this was the handsome waiters/servers that looked very professional and speaks English well(nosebleed). As well as the pleasant service they offer. So I don't mind paying for the service charge.
I therefore conclude, I'm not a Greek. I'm a 100% Filipino ;).
