After a very long hiatus, I am now ready to blog again. I have realized the need to continue blogging due to severe boredom at home and at work.
So let me start by sharing my experiences during our barkada trip in Tagaytay last March 2012. I'll be posting here a somewhat detailed post of our trip starting from Mahogany Market to the house we stayed in up to the different places we've been to. Mind you, we toured Tagaytay without getting a tour guide or booking a package tour. We were able to roam around places through public transpo or commuting process(LOL). It may be very tiring but that's what you get when your a budget traveler -> poor traveler, hahaha.
From NAIA Terminal 3, we rode the airport's Shuttle Bus going to Baclaran which costs P20.00/passenger(I think this is cheaper than riding a taxi). At Baclaran we walked towards the train station and from there we rode a bus that has route to Alfonso, Tagaytay. The bus is not an airconditioned(P65) one so its very inconvenient, stops more often as a result we arrived in Tagaytay very late than what we expected. The best option would be to look for airconditioned(P75+) buses as the fares doesn't really differ that much probably just 10-15 peso difference so you won't get chaka(ugly) and haggard. Finally, after almost 2.5hours of travel we've finally reached our destination, TAGAYTAY.
First stop is the famous Mahogany Market popular for its Bulalo(Beef shank soup). We hurriedly ordered Bulalo and Sizzling Sisig for our viands.
Sorry to say this but the Bulalo isn't exceptional or good. I felt so disappointed, it is not what I expected it or are my expectations just too high? I don't know. All I can say is, Cebu's bulalo is better - my mom's bulalo tastes even better. The taste is so bland, seems like your sipping water(too harsh?). The only positive thing I could think of with regards to their bulalo is that its really big, good for 4-6persons already. All of us agreed, it's not worth the price. We're very disappointed.
The Sizzling Sisig is better, not outstanding though but better compared to the bulalo. It tasted ok, dry, but atleast the presentation looks good and appealing. Good thing is there are condiments available to add taste to your viands, like salt, pepper, vinegar, soy sauce.
Please don't be discouraged with my post, it's just my opinion maybe this is does not apply to all. You could still add this place to visit when your in Tagaytay. Remember, there's no harm in trying(winks).
Just a tip, don't forget to ask for free bananas. Yes it's for free they give complimentary bananas to diners so don't hesitate to ask for it.
