It has already been over a year or so since I last visited JY Square Mall. I frequented this place before when we had our office near it. But since we transferred, I haven't got the opportunity to stroll around JY again. Luckily, I was headed off to a laundry shop near Cambridge School, and thus arranged a meetup with BF at JY Square Mall for easier access. We met during dinner time so we opted to have our dinner there. The mall has changed a lot since my last visit here. More restaurant and dining options are now available - Razons, Tiktilaok, Handuraw Pizza, 7/11 convenience store and Uncle Kim. The latter was where we're headed off for dinner. Their tarpaulins/banners were all over the mall, thus caught our attention.
We entered the simple and minimalist restaurant located on the 2nd floor near Ding quaqua and beside Tiktilaok. We then chose our seats and were handed down the menu. Looking at the menu, the food was kinda pricey for me. Food choices range from 90-500 pesos most of which are Korean inspired viands. BF and I chose the set meals(all of which does not include drinks) Hamburger and Tonkatsu set meal(P158) for BF and Spicy Chicken Thigh 1pc set meal(P98) for me.

Our order arrived after around 10-15 mins of waiting. Presentation wise, I give it an A for effort. It wasn't really that astonishing or remarkable but it looks okay. Plus factor would be the cabbage strips with mayo/dressing and mixed steamed vegetables on the sides. My spicy chicken thigh is kinda small part for me(but probably average for some). Hence, disregard the small portion of the chicken and immense yourself with the rich and flavorful chicken meat smothered with the spicy sauce. I wasn't impressed with my first bite of my chicken but afterwards, my perception changed and I was amazed. I wanted to have more of it but I already ate it all(wished to have eaten more). The sidings were fresh and I also devoured it leaving the table with a clean plate. BF also liked his hamburger and tonkatsu meal. He said the burger patty was very thick and was well worth the price he paid for.
We had a positive overall experience at Uncle Kim. Though the food might seem pricey, I could commend the warm customer service and excellent food quality. I would definitely visit this place again if ever I'd have the chance to stroll around JY again.
**I just noticed that most Korean restos have very good, polite and cheerful servers. They were probably train to do so. That's a very big plus factor for me.
