Banana split is one of the best desserts in town...for me. Needless to say, it's one of those readily available desserts in the market. Although this can be bought in almost any resto, I don't usually buy this - due to its price tag which isn't proportional to the simple ingredients used, or is it just because of the "stingy" part of me???, hehehe. Usually priced at P100-200, this yummy dessert is normally served in a long dish called "boat". Scoops of vanilla, chocolate and strawberry ice cream arranged in a row between the banana cut in half lengthwise(split).
So when we visited one of Cebu's dessert haven, Ice Castle in SM City Cebu, BF handily picked this Banana Split inspired dessert called "Oreo Brownie Split". It comes in 3 scoops of (vanilla and chocolate)ice cream, a banana, 2 oreo cookies, topped with whipped cream, brownie bits and a cherry, drizzled with chocolate syrup. Woah, that was uberly chocolatey. My sweet-toothed persona was vehemently released in a glance. And I suddenly saw myself devouring the dessert while having a sweet conversation, whilst competing with BF. Little did we know that it was almost over and all we could see were traces of melted ice cream. We wanted more but realized the calories, money and how health conscious??? we were. But then again, there's always a next time and next time is another sweet variant to devour.
Was Ice Castle's Oreo Brownie Split worth it? Definitely yes! If your craving for desserts(forget the non-desserts), visit Ice Castle or Dessert Factory. These two are the popular dessert havens of Cebu.
