I have been choosing burger over viands just recently. This sudden change of preference was a result of my disappointment in fancy restaurants offering viands/main dish. Why? As a foodie, I always try different kinds of dishes especially main dishes or the "viand" variety. But my usual complaint is that main dishes usually tastes the same, nothing unique. My mom can cook those dishes and even tastes better, though presentation wise - no. So whenever I eat out I prefer those that mom couldn't make best - pizza, pasta, burger or anything other than a viand.
BF knows that I'm a picky eater now and I opt eating burger/pizza/pasta; he decided we go to Army Navy. This newly opened restaurant famous for its burger and burritos was BF's pick for our 85th monthsary. Army Navy Burger and Burritos is located at E-Bloc 2, Asiatown IT Park, Lahug Cebu City.
The Food
Burger: (P255 - double burger patty with cheese slice and bacon) The burger is very big and juicy. We had a hard time biting it due to its size. The add-ons really made a difference as it made a big impact/addition to the overall taste of the burger. One of the best burgers I've tasted, second to Don Merto's burger(still the best for me).
Carnitas Pork Taco: (P165 - free Libertea on Tuesdays only) The meat of the taco is like grilled pork tidbits. Half meat, half fat, nonetheless it tastes good. The spices/condiments should not be taken forgranted as it adds flavor to the taco. Spread out the condiments in your taco, roll it and bite. Eating it is a bit messy as meat and onions keep falling. The Libertea is a must try. It has this distinctive taste that sets it apart from the common iced teas. The tea flavor is overpowering and I like it.
Freedom Fries: (P65) I got nothing much to say about their fries only that it tastes like KFC fries but in thinner slices. Same delicious taste but pricier.
The Verdict
Meals are priced reasonably, you get what you paid for. Though it may seem a bit pricey as compared to other burger chains, still Army Navy is a must try. I give this one a thumbs up and surely BF and I will be back there soon.

I had to return my Army Navy burger because a third of it was uncooked. I'm surprised they're already cutting corners with the cooking to get orders out right away... After inspecting my uncooked burger they apologized profusely and gave me the next burger on the line... serious illness can develop from eating raw meat... I hope the cooks realize one fateful lawsuit can kill a successful business in a snap.
ReplyDeleteThat was quite a bad experience you got there. Good thing they apologized, but sometimes apologies don't matter anymore as harm has already been done.
