A diamond peel treatment is a form of microdermabrasion, a popular non-surgical cosmetic procedure that resurfaces the skin to give it back its healthy, youthful glow. Diamond peel treatments are a gentler microdermabrasion treatment that is designed to remove fine lines and wrinkles. Source: http://www.ehow.com/way_5516948_diamond-peel-treatment.html
Me and my friends love to pamper ourselves once in a while. This is a means of treating ourselves and at the same time bond with each other. We usually go to Club Ultima's Prana Medispa for diamond peel sessions but since we have Metrodeal vouchers we opted to use it this time. The voucher is good for 1 diamond peel session at DermCare branches of your preference. We chose their Ayala branch located at the basement area near Rustan's Supermarket.
I called DermCare 3 days prior as per voucher terms. We arrived at the branch and presented the voucher. The receiving personnel is accommodating and after a few minutes the treatment started.
I have high hopes for this clinic as I thought they must have excellent treatment and services. But what we experienced was contrary to my belief. They don't pamper their customers well. Is it because we availed this at a lower price so you only get what you paid for? The voucher costs P250 for a P900 original price. The steaming part was very long. My face sweat a lot that the sweat flows through my neck and ears. It was like having a sauna, I think it lasted for almost 30mins. It was the longest face steam I've encountered. And after the steaming part, the lady didn't even bother to wipe off all of the sweat from my face. If it had been in Prana Medispa, the therapist would surely wipe it all off. Sorry if I made too much comparison but I need to. With this I'd be able to know which one is better. When it comes to the pricking part, they prick my pimples very hard like its no tomorrow. I cried a lot. I know that pricking hurts, but that's just too much. After pricking, pimple-like treatment follows then the actual diamond peel procedure. I was so dissatisfied with how they "scrape" my face using the diamond peel tool. They did it fast and did not even include the neck. Then, they added creams or such, wiped it and had this metal "tool" that's as cold as ice to close the pores. Lastly, a quick massage in the head and back before you leave.

Unlike in Prana Medispa, here I walked out feeling ugly. My face stings and reddish. Their so-called diamond peel doesn't include face mask. I did not bother to avail of the face mask treatment as I felt it isn't necessary and it would also cost me P150. But after I looked at myself in the mirror, I saw the red marks and blood from the pricking. This is the first time I got so disappointed with the promo deal I bought. I purchased this deal thinking I'd save more, but in the end it cost me more. If I availed of the face mask, the total treatment would cost me P400 which is more expensive than the other establishment we've used to wherein we could get 3 sessions for P1000. Another thing I noticed is that unlike in DermCare, the therapists at Prana have fragrant hands. And I like the overall smell of their creams.
Enough for my rant. This post has become too long already. Lesson learned, don't expect too much especially when the price is too good to be true. If this is the exact treatment experience they offer to clients paying the regular price, I doubt they'd have more clients. Maybe this is an isolated case and is only at their Ayala branch, that I don't know. How about you, what's your DermCare experience? Good, or bad?
Your blog is great
ReplyDeletethanks sir. :D
ReplyDeleteNow im decided not to try the diamond peel at dermcare. I already bought the 250 voucher but i was hesitant of what would be the effect. Thanks for sharing. Great help!
ReplyDeleteyour welcome. twas a disappointing experience for us. not worth the so-called "promo"
ReplyDeleteActually, halus lahat naman ganito. Pag promo or voucher gamit mo, you'll likely receive a run of the mill treatment.
ReplyDeletejc is right.. i think if you use those promo or voucher they wont have a satisfied treatment.. i mean lets face it..u only paid less than what its worth. iv tried the diamond peel in derm care paying the reg price.. and i got a good service.
ReplyDeleteThis merely implies that the vendor is not professional enough!
Deletei know about that, it's just that it was so deceiving. they promoted it that you could save as much as... but then you wouldn't save either way. so what's the point of buying? most companies advertise in group buying sites to promote their products and gain loyal customers, how can they gain more customers if they deceive those who are paying for the promo price and who would simply want to try their service and if satisfied, go back with or without the promo?
ReplyDeleteI had bought and used a lot of promo vouchers for different services, like body massage, foot massage and etc. but none of those had given me poor treatment. only DermCare was a fail...
ReplyDeleteHi guys... I have a voucher for the diamond peel... So should i have it done at the club ultima? Could i ask how much is the swedish massage? Please let me know guys.... Happy new year!!
ReplyDeleteJane, that was the worst diamond peel we had. Lesson learned hindi na ulit mag pa diamond peel sa Dermcare Ayala :(
ReplyDeletemao jud marimarj. of all the vouchers and coupons we had. sa dermcare ra jud ang bad service, grrr... sa prana nlng jud ta
ReplyDeleteI got a Gift Certificate from slimmers world for a DIAMOND PEEL at SM. Should I avail this?
ReplyDeletei think you should. they may be good, its worth a try.
ReplyDeletei had the same experience at Dermcare Ayala Cebu. I purchased 6 vouchers, i gave the 5 vouchers as gift. and yesterday we had our appointment and I was not satisfied with everything.. bisan pa'g barato nato pagkapalit serbisyohan unta ta as advertised. worst deal ever! naa pay towel nga mamilit sa imong sinina, bisag unsa-on papha di mawala :(
ReplyDeletekorek jud ka. dli kay abi discounted, i.lousy nila ang service. promotion bya unta para dghan mu patronize sa ilang clinic, den mao na ilang ipakita na service? tsk tsk tsk

-Slimmers world GC for diamond peel i think is the worst at SM, i tried it before and overall procedure only lasted for 10-15 mins no face steaming and no pricking...and the GC costs P1500. It was really a crap experience.
If you wish to get a facial service in Forever Flawless SM Northwing, avoid ROSE. Her pricking skill is terrible. It left depressed, ice-pick scarring on my cheeks. I was a regular customer of Forever Flawless until this bullshit ROSE handled me... It's been three years since then. Everytime I look at the mirror, the sight of the scars on my face is killing me.
ReplyDeleteoh no, i also got vouchers, 2 pa naman. e kasi naman i got diamond peel at clara intl along quezon ave, i was very satisfied with their services nung nagpatanggal ako ng warts dati. pag sinabi nilang unli kasi sa warts, kasama skin tags. e the diamond peel at clara was worth 599, pero ok din ang service wla nga lang yung steam. pero magaan ang kamay tinanggal mga blackheads kong malalaki and they pricked a pimple i didn't know i had (malapit na kasi sa hairline). nakita ko naman kasi yung sa metrodeal, mura eh. kumbaga 2 nun, 1 lang sa clara. oh no, what will i do. buti na lang kahit pano di ako tagyawatin. maybe i'll just give them away (the vouchers, not the pimples) as gifts? ang sama ko naman?
ReplyDeleteI too had my face furthered destroyed will scars and left and right acne appearing after i've been to dermcare. I think i had a total of 3 sessions there expecting to have my acne reduced after the first session but they left me acne scars on ky cheeks and its been 2yrs since then. My acne were pricked and handle incorrectly. The steam session was also very hot, the towel they rubbed on my face was very hard on ny skin. Overall i don't recommend the clinic. Bad experience and gave me more acne.
ReplyDeleteHello.u should try also skin metro their service is quite satisfying then reasonable price....I already try its really good service...^^
ReplyDeleteMay I know the price for Diamond peel in Prana? Coz, I'm planning to have a diamond peel this Dec.
ReplyDeletehi, i think regular rate is at P600+ for non members. but you can buy coupons from club ultima members at 350 and up. most members sell their coupons for 3000 pesos = 12 coupons. try browsing in istorya.net, there are sellers selling prana diamond peel coupons
ReplyDeletedermcare fairview is different.staff are accomodating and procedure was done expertly...i have been having my diamond peel for 10x and im quite satisfied. i must say the WORST staff and service is at SURGILIGHT FAIRVIEW?the receptionist who claims she's a nurse, was not even smiling....VERY MALDITA,their diamond peel was only 5minutes.no exag. accdg to the staff it was because namumula ako....well, after the session, ngkasugat ang cheeks ko.parang galos....NEVER EVER GO TO SURGILIGHT FAIRVIEW
ReplyDeletehello, pano po mag bayad para sa voucher or i-avail yung promo? naka atm kase ako and i cant pay it through my atm even though i tried too many times answer asap
ReplyDeletehello, pano po mag pay thru atm? hindi ko kase mabayaran kahit ilang beses nako nag try.. pls pasagot :)
ReplyDeletemake sure your atm is a member of bancnet. if so, simply choose the bancnet option in order to pay via atm.
ReplyDeletekindly check the FAQ's here: http://www.beeconomic.com.ph/faq on how to use your groupon.
I think depende po sa staff yan .. demcare biñan central mall ay ok nman po sa knila po ako ng ppa body scrab .. tsaka mgaan yung kmay ng staff nila sa mga costumer at npka talkative pa which is nkka libang nman kakwenta hbang gngawa nila yung service ..
ReplyDeletemy cousins and I go to Dermcare Las Pinas and we've been going there for six months na. Mababait and staff. We are satisfied with their diamond peel. We all bought 5 vouchers from Metrodeal. I have diamond peel and I've used my three vouchers na and so far the same naman ang nakukuha namin treatmnet kahit regular price or voucher ang gamitin.
ReplyDeletemaybe sa ayala, cebu branch lang siguro ang bad customer service. good for u if you have experienced good service in your area
ReplyDeleteThe Dermcare branch in Ayala is a no-go. I think they're staff their are just "I'm too good for this work" or snob bunch. You should try SM Dermcare. They're great and friendly. :)
ReplyDeleteDepende rin kac un sa naglilinis sayo eh
ReplyDeleteI guess depende lng po yun sa individual staff. I'm a Dermcare regular client for years but so far I've never experienced such misdemeanor. If that's the case, it should be reported to the management for them to be aware and make an action for the said individual ;)
ReplyDeleteI brought voucher in metrodeal for diamond peel of surgilight for 99 pesos only and it feels like nothing,
ReplyDeleteNothing change, nothing happen, maybe because I only paid 99 pesos and I think facial is necessary before diamond peeling, I don't want to continue na sana but sad to say I had 3 vouchers already.
ive been to dermcare ayala branch since 2014 at satisfied ako sa service nila..kahit voucher yung gamit ko same service sa regular price..friendly naman po mga staff nila kaya nga nagustohan ko.
ReplyDeleteI would agree that sometimes its on a case-to-case basis, its just that I felt bad for being treated that way. I have had a number of diamond peel experiences and only in dermcare that i had a bad experience. I just hope they would now improve their service.
DeleteDermcare SM Seaside staff are great. Im sartisfied to their services. I had 5 sessions of underarm whitening and waxing, twice body scrub, facial and brazalian
ReplyDeleteEven if you avail the regular price, some of them really have that kind of attitude. Well, not all the staff were like that. Some are nice and accomodating. I'm sad whenever the usual staff (who is so nice), is busy and wont be able to do my treatment.
