I know this is a very delayed post, but I just want to share where we've been in Davao. Because of affordable promo fares by Cebu Pacific, we were able to travel by air to different places in the Philippines. Last March 2011, BF and I toured the Crown Jewel of Mindanao, Davao City, Philippines. We only stayed there for 2days/1night so time was a constraint. We were only able to visit a few tourist attractions like Paradise Island Park and Beach Resort, People's Park and Crocodile Farm.
Right after arrival from the Francisco Bangoy International Airport, we headed directly to Paradise Island Resort.
Going to...
- From the airport, we rode a taxi to Kilometer 9, Sasa Wharf (tell the driver your going to Paradise Island or Costa Marina).
- At the Sasa Wharf, ride a bangka - P15/person
The Place
A very budget-friendly resort that's well-managed. The place is very clean. They even have a beach cleaner-sort of- that sweeps away garbage in the beach. I never really thought that someone like that exists(I thought only pool cleaners exist). There are lots of staffs in uniforms roaming around the area so you won't find a hard time looking for one.

They also offer good food. Because the entrance fee comes with free consumable voucher, we made it a point to try their food. Eventhough it is quite expensive, it still is worth the price because of big servings and delectable food presentation. Food is served in a styrofoam plate and plastic spoon and fork is wrapped in plastic so it's very neat.
The Verdict
Overall, it was a blast. If only this resort is nearer to our place or if given another chance to be in Davao, I'd surely drop by here and hope you do too.
Expenses:
Taxi to Sasa Wharf - P120 (location is quite far from the airport)
Bangka ride to Paradise Island Resort - P15 x 2pax x 2(roundtrip) = P60
Paradise Island Resort Entrance fee - P200 x 2pax = P400
Food - P500 less P300(P150/pax consumable voucher) = P200
Total -------------------------- P780/2 = P390/person
cool site, and nice topics.
