I have always wanted to try out this little hidden treasure situated at Sto. Nino Village, Banilad Cebu City. The only thing that hinders me to do so is the location. Banilad area is quite far from our where I reside though my workplace is near it and I'm not familiar with the place. So to alter this impediment, I asked my friends and BF to join me in this foodtrip.
BF called for reservation a day in advance to guarantee our seats. We walked 10 Dove Street from our workplace in Gaisano Countrymall to Sto. Nino Village and from there we asked the guard for directions going to the restaurant. It was a bit far from the village entrance though but still we walked through. We arrived in the resto and it was really small. The place can sit probably at most 15 people.
Menu |
After settling in, we were given the menu. We scanned it and hurriedly chose our main course, salad and soup options. My French onion soup tasted good, this is the first time I tried onion soup. The cheese is the star in this soup, it made the greatest impact on this. My friends who ordered the crab corn soup said it was so ordinary. It tasted like the ready-to-cook Knorr soup.
Garden Salad |
Harvest Apple salad |
Next dish after the soup was the salad. I had the garden salad and some had the harvest apple which gained a positive feedback from my friends. I love salads coz I find it healthy, vegetables or fruits.
Frankfurter Skillet |
sandwiches |
We were almost full after finishing the salad but wait there's more. Its time for the main course. I had the Macaroni and Frankfurter Skillet which is served in a very big plate. The others ordered either the sandwich or the burger. We were very full already. We could hardly finish our meal but we need to as we still have our cake-of-the-day next. The only flavor available during that time was the tiramisu. This one's my/our least favorite of all the dishes. It is too sweet and we all agreed.
We went home very full - with bulging stomachs - and we walked again going out inorder for our food to digest, hehehe. 10 Dove Street is another Cebu's best kept secret, hole-in-the-wall restaurant to boast for. We spent only around P240, P200 for the set meal and P40 for the canned 4-seasons juice drink.
