Summer in Cebu this year has been the hottest I've experienced so far. Imagine yourself lurking around the sauna to sweat it all out. I can't recall a day since the start of summer 2013 that I didn't sweat. Cebuanos think of lots of ways to cool down, whether taking a half bath, roaming around malls, going to the beach or eating cold desserts. And one the famous desserts in this arena is the Filipino summer favorite Halo-halo.
Halo-halo is a mixture of crushed ice with different fruits and condiments, with milk and sugar usually topped off with classic ice cream flavors. My favorite halo-halo is from Chowking, and second on my list is from CoolSavers located at Talisay, Cebu.
CoolSavers' halo-halo is my favorite because it has the best crushed ice. Seems the ice itself is already flavored/mixed with sugar and vanilla flavoring, I think. For only over P50, you get to let yourself cool down with this yummy halo-halo treat with 2 scoops of ice cream on top. Now I'm drooling...
